The Continental still has a silver paint job and blue interior. Powering the Lincoln is the original 462 cubic inch V8 motor mated to smooth automatic transmission. This Continental had a full motor build in the early 2000s and has had another tune-up with in the last two years.

All versions of the Continental were fitted with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The fourth-generation Lincoln Continental was offered solely as a four-door in either a sedan or a convertible. For the first time on a Lincoln since 1951, rear doors were rear-hinged (suicide doors) were standard.
