It’s another great reminder of the thoughtfulness than went into this car’s restoration. And while the door panels and seat have been re-finished in a crisp black, the paisley detailing makes this a full uniform interior. You get a great classic three-spoke steering wheel with DeSoto center cap, and the floor-mounted shift is a great place to rest your right hand.
The proof is in the paint. It takes a professional hand and plenty of time to get a black that has a mirror-like finish. This high-gloss shine also highlights the straightness of the sheetmetal.
But the upgrade to a 12-volt system makes this a much easier machine to enjoy on the road. The three-speed manual transmission shifts easily, and because this want to be a true driver’s classic, you get an upgraded front suspension with a sway bar and disc brakes. Something with such a unique story needs the right paperwork to back it all up.
