About 3% of the first years production were non export ,Right Hand Drive cars making this a rather rare TD. The solid wheels – not pierced- verify its rarity as they were mounted on early production cars. This beautiful car stops traffic wherever it is driven, especially in Charleston’s historic district. Highlights of the restoration:- Body and all body parts were removed and taken to bare metal- Rebuilt engine and trans- runs with great oil pressure- see dash gauge photo- New steering bushings- New fuel system components- New brake system components- New electrical system components – New tires- New chrome- New leather interior and Stayfast tonneau- Burl walnut dash with wood steering wheel- New wood – floorboards, supports, etc. Complete top and side curtains are included, but were not restored. Pls note: After questions, Charleston is a port city facilitating overseas transportation for international buyers. History from the previous owner who bought the car in the sixties and original documents: A US soldier in WW2 fell in love with MGs and when the TDs were first introduced he traveled to the UK and purchased it and arranged to have it shipped back to the States, consequently the car does not have an export ID.
